Job Description

 

Client is seeking 2  Hadoop Data Engineers to help manage an offer personalization engine built with Python/PySpark on AWS EMR clusters.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform data engineering tasks using PySpark to aggregate multiple data sources into a centralized repository on AWS
  • Working closely with Data Science team to maintain and improve machine learning models and PySpark based personalization/assignment/measurement tools
  • Develop new features and augment tools based on business requirements

 

Technical Ownership Skills:

  • Data Engineering & data flow pipelines
  • Handling unstructured data
  • Software/application engineering
  • Continuous Integration
  • Knowledge of data science techniques including supervised and unsupervised learning
  • Knowledge of A/B testing/Experimental design


Business Ownership skills:

  • Data ownership
  • Iteration & unit-testing
  • Hypothesis testing & Inductive thinking
  • Experience communicating technical/analytics solutions to senior-level business stakeholders

 

Languages/Tools:

  • Advanced Python knowledge (pandas, numpy)
  • Spark - using pySpark
  • SQL (analytic functions, subqueries, etc)
  • Git & Github
  • Hadoop: AWS EMR (Debian), Hive
  • Jenkins (Continuous Integration)
  • Tableau/Excel

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coach the scrum team to become a self-organized, cross-functional and highly efficient team that delivers high-quality products.
  • experience being a CSM for healthcare scrum projects
  • Facilitate Scrum events such as backlog creation/grooming, prioritization, stand up meetings, estimation, showcase and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with Product Manager to plan roadmap execution based on estimates and capacity; also identify risks to the plan.
  • Clarify deliverables and assignments to the scrum team and remove impediments.
  • Facilitate documenting, publishing and executing the teams continuous improvement plan (based on retrospectives).
  • Publish the teams agile metrics to management and stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor the scrum team in its scrum adoption.
  • Facilitate the documentation of working agreement, definition of ready and definition of done for the scrum team.
  • Conduct change management
  • Engage Product Owners, Portfolio Leads, and PMs to fulfill their individual roles.
  • Participate and/or Lead scrum adoption practices across the organization and related Community of Practices.

 

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • 2 years of practitioner experience leading Agile / Scrum projects.
  • Scrum Master Certification Level 1 or 2 (CSP, PSM I/II)
  • Management experience.
