POSITION 3
Industrial Design Engineer – 3D CAD
Location : Milwaukee, WI
Summary: The industrial design organization works at a system. The organization works with cross functional development teams to define the strategy, optimize the hardware, align the user experience, and oversee the execution of product development. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of industrial design, human factors engineering, user research, aesthetics, brand management, and the product development lifecycle. The industrial designer will own workload from initial research and conceptualization through evaluation and delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Define strategic initiatives around global portfolio’s design direction and organization’s ability to influence customer base
• Define and evangelize product development philosophy and values
• Authors, evolves, and maintains product standards and style guides
• Drive collaboration and buy-in across business units
• Support the development of requirements for new products and the migration path for existing products
• Collaborate cross-functionally to balance customer needs, business priorities, and product requirements to ensure the highest level of quality and user enablement
• Ideate and support the development of design ideas ranging from napkin sketches to fully rendered prototypes.
Deliverables might include:
o Technology road maps
o Proof of concept renderings
o CAD (or other 3D environment) assets
o Engineering prototypes
o Portfolio management reviews
• Deliver final design rendering and details for customer-facing digital environment
• Understand how our customers use our products and translate into portfolio improvements
• Partner with third party vendors to develop strategic road map of product portfolio

• Support all teams throughout product lifecycle insuring proper execution and implementation of organization’s design philosophy and aesthetic
Requirements: • Bachelors (or advanced) degree in industrial design, interaction design, graphic design from a recognized institution and a minimum 4 years of related experience
• Must have excellent communication skills and excel at persuading through presentations, discussions, and the documentation of technical information
• Ability to perform design research and analysis
• Demonstrated ability to independently draw conclusions from technical information and research
• Proven experience leading teams, gathering requirements and authoring solutions
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance, training and coaching to less experienced designers
• Ability to manage third-party relationships and interact with customers for ideation and issue resolution
• Impeccable attention to detail and demonstrated excellence in designing great looking, easy to use products

Experience in browser compatibility based development and validation using browser simulator
