Job Title: Sql Developer (Azure & Strong PlSql Programming Required) Location: Atlanta GA Duration: LongTerm Job Description: This developer would need to support current project and operational needs fir the real-time (Value Adds/PPE) network. Project work custom development would be roughly 70% of their assignment. Tasks would include building new or modifying existing Stored procedure logic, custom SQL package development, some extract/load development, as well as handling some database update requests for maintenance and operational support. - Review SQL Database settings and usage of the SQL database to identify optimization
- Providing solutions for resolving application time-out due to performance issues in Azure SQL Databases by doing performance tuning and query re-writing on a need basis of the application databases. This involves understanding the problems and finding the root cause using the various tools and SQL Server utilities like SQL profiler, Perfmon, Database Tuning Advisor and the various AIX tools.
- Review log files, table structures, data and implement solutions which includes table partitioning, modifying indexes etc.
- Perform database server hardening process, Implementing and performing Database Archival processes in production environment, Creating and managing SQL packages and Planning and implementing Backup and Restore strategies.
- Setting up methods to monitor the SQL Database and batch jobs activities in order to identify how the quires are getting executed in the production environment.
- Clarifying the issues of the team members and helping them in the proper execution of the project. This involves in a meeting with team members on a frequent basis to understand their issues and provide solutions/workaround.
- Reviewing work products and deploying the codes in the test environment and initiating the process of user acceptance testing. It includes fixing of bugs and technical errors that may come up during this phase.
- Provide Server Support for the migration of SQL Server and databases running on legacy systems to newer versions. This would involve formulating the strategy for migration, formulate the migration plan, write the scripts for the migration and perform the migration.
- Support the business by suggesting and implementing various Business Continuity solutions. This involves setting up the infrastructure based on Maximum Availability and High Availability. Maximum Availability, backup and restores solution for recovery in case the Database is down. High Availability comprises of SQL Server cluster system, Log shipping and mirroring..
- Identify and develop the reusable modules and templates that will help in improving the productivity of the team.
- Ensuring that the team has the required technical expertise to execute the project. This involves the identification of key technical areas related to the project and conducting training sessions to plug any gaps. Also responsible for providing technical assistance over the course of the project.
- Interaction with the Clients for understanding their requirements and to provide the ideal solutions. Identify ways to improve the client business by automating daily tasks.
