Project Manager Location: Cerritos, CA Duration : 6 – 12 Months Hourly Rate: $50 - $55/hr 12-14 years overall IT experience, 6 years PM experience with Healthcare Domain Job Description: This position works with business partners to identify and implement multiple technical projects of varying sizes, as defined by Anthem methodology, such as broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development, building enterprise applications or data warehouse planning and development. Manages projects at least $1M in size or equal complexity. Directs system analysts, software designers and programmers to determine best methods to achieve project objectives. Works with moderate guidance and is responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems. Operates within defined parameters using project management methodology. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Manages the development of a prescribed planning document
- Develops project charter; partners with sponsors to secure project approval
- Develops communication management plan
- Defines project team roles and responsibilities, develops work plan structure and project schedule
- Develops deployment plan
- Leads project meetings
- Identifies, documents and prioritizes scope changes and facilitates approval process
- Maintains and updates all project documents
- Secures the appropriate skill sets for project
- Sets and manages expectations with resource managers and team members
- Provides performance feedback to team members and resource managers and maintains issue log
- Facilitates resolution of issues, executes communication plans, and regularly reports status of reports
- Manages and monitors ROI throughout the project lifecycle
- Tracks and manages time and budget against plan
- Develops testing strategy
- Conduct project close-out activities
- prepares and participates in quality review checkpoints
- Obtain/secure and archive necessary approvals
- Manage and update project plan
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Good understanding of Healthcare domain (Payer, Provider)
- Practitioner of the critical path methodology
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, iterative models
- Experienced in developing deliverable based work breakdown structures
- Experienced leveraging labor resources across multiple vendors
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive
- Collaborative
- Experienced in leading infrastructure engineers to deliver complex solutions
- Experience with portfolio management applications and Rational tools preferred
- Requires an understanding of the overall organization
- Demonstrated application of project management methodology required
- Project management/Agile certification
- Requires BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with IT focus degree; 7 years of project management experience in broad-based information systems, with at least 3 years leading and directing project tasks; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
- Demonstrated application of and proven success of project management methodology, management tools, analysis and research tools, documentation tools, and reporting tools required
- Experience in coaching and mentoring project team members preferred.
- Experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, managing resources in a matrix environment, communicating and influencing effectively at all levels of an organization required
Internal focused qualifications - Been with a IT service provider
- Been part of proposal/pursuit teams and/or led proposals ($1M - $5M TCV)
- Has the ability to identify opportunities where services/capabilities can be utilized
- Has managed/worked with Global teams
- Have worked with the client account leadership team in driving improvements for the account/customer engagements
- Good communication skills
- Good people management/collaboration skills
- Experience with different engagement models (Fixed Bid, Managed services, Outcome based models)
