Provide engineering support for Firewall, DMZ, partner connect, VPN, ZRAS business needs
§ Assist senior lead with future design and external connectivity solutions and deliver new solutions in a timely, bullet proof, cost effective manner.
§ Collaborate and partner with other BT leaders to align network strategy, direction and priorities, and risk tolerance profile with business driven BT solutions requirements.
§ Assist operational team with any escalations that require engineering involvement
§ Provide mentorship to the operations team which includes providing training and documentation for all services that are in a run (BAU) state.
§ Establish and maintain industry leading service levels in the delivery of network services by fostering and driving a culture of quality, collaboration and innovation across the Infrastructure team, the broader BT organization and our vendor partners.
Strategy and Business Results
§ Assist in the development of a business aligned, standards based, 3 year strategy for External Connectivity services and solutions
§ Act as an innovation enabler and proactively bring forward opportunities and solutions that can drive cost effective service delivery, and enable revenue growth and profitability for the company.
§ Secure Z perimeter network, and deploy appropriate internal and external controls to deliver bullet proof network infrastructure and services that are permanently Disaster Ready and Audit Ready, with SLAs that strive for 24x7 availabilty, 100% uptime.
§ Create appropriate metrics/KPIs and then track, report upon, and proactively communicate results from Network performance monitoring
Architecture, Delivery, and Support
§ Develop, deploy and continually enhance integrated, standardized external facing network solutions and services for the company.
§ Including:
o DMZ networking
o Firewalls, Proxies, Internet connectivity (in partnership with Security team)
o 3rd Party connectivity (B2B and others)
o Remote Access
o VPN
o Disaster Recovery enablement and ongoing enhancement
o Vendor Management
o Contribute to, and help maintain the enterprise systems architecture. Ensure adherence to standards and polices for
o Drive the standardization and rationalization of the network infrastructure towards a clearly defined, optimized, and enhanced end-state architecture.
o Assist in the creation, maintenance and communication of the external facing network architecture, including its design and technology standards
o Manage chosen service providers in the deployment and ongoing support of all network services
o L3+ support of external connetivity services
