Job Purpose:
Creates user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java based components and interfaces.
Responsibilities:
As a member of a team focused on supporting new product development, you will participate in all phases of software development including requirements, analysis, design, code, unit test, system test, deployment, and system maintenance. In addition, you will help define work breakdown structures and time estimates for development activities, provide hands-on technical leadership in the requirements, design, development and testing of software solutions and provide mentoring to team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interfaces with customers and other vendors as necessary during the product development cycle.
• Rapidly prototypes potential solutions in support of larger product development efforts.
• Acts as a technical subject matter expert across the product platform
Qualifications:
Basic Skills:
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5 to 7 years’ experience in web applications development using Java or J2EE technologies.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding and hands-on experience with the Model View Controller architecture approach.
Preferred Skills:
• Eclipse IDE or WebSphere Application Developer Studio or JBoss Studio and Visual Studio.Net
• Experience in JDBC, Servlets, JSP, EJB, Struts, ADO, and AJAX, UNIX
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with Web Services
• Strong Object-oriented programming skills
• Familiarity with Javascript.
• Experience with unit and functional test automation and test driven deployment.
• Experience working with and developing XML based web services.
• Experience with SQL programming and working knowledge of one or more relational databases (Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle, UML modeling and knowledge of XML and related technologies such as XSLTs and XML schema.
