Job Description:
Software engineer to be part of the R&D Software Engineering team for the development of software on a new state of the art molecular diagnostic instrument. The candidate must be self-directed requiring minimal daily direction while collaborating with the team to achieve agreed upon scheduled deliverable work.
Primary Responsibilities:
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Works under general supervision to plan, design, and develop software components as assigned. o Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and standard approaches for the implementation of solutions to assigned tasks. o Responsible for implementation of new software component designs or enhancements to existing software products; assists in the implementation of more complex subsystems and systems. o Suggests improvements or adaptations to existing methods or processes to improve productivity. o Assists team leadership in the establishment and clarification of specifications for assigned work. o Recommends design direction or modifications of software system components. o Demonstrates a positive work ethic with strong commitment to achieving project goals. o Works with team leadership to establish necessary test specification and requirements for design validation of less complex designs. o Participates in decisions on scope of work, duration of tasks, and determination of design requirements. o Responsible for the specification, design, coding, testing, and documentation of software components of moderate complexity. o Participates in code inspections and technical reviews. o Presents material on new or enhanced designs to members of project team. o Presents data and design reviews to management as needed. Impact: o Able to provide solutions to moderately complex technical problems consistent with the project objectives. o Has a mastery of the software engineering process and tools utilized as well as a general background in related disciplines. o Quality of work sets a positive example to more junior personnel. Ensures that the team members working on the same assignment are producing high quality work. o Failure to meet schedule commitments will result in program delays.
Skills/Education Required:
* Experience working on a small, fast paced team at a Global Company is required. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities. * Can work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience using .NET C# * Prior experience working in a regulated industry would be beneficial
