Duration: 6 months+
Suggested Experience & Qualifications:
Lead architect with about 10+ years’ experience architecting enterprise frameworks and solutions using J2EE and Rich UI patterns (AJAX, ZK etc.).
Specific expertise in the brokerage, wealth management and insurance space is highly desired. Thorough knowledge of the SOA frameworks and related information delivery constructs and experience in a highly distributed environment with a mixed stack of application tiers desired.
? This person will contribute in-depth technical knowledge to lead the design of client Brokerage and Wealth Management systems development.
? This role combines strong technical architecture expertise, a solid understanding of core business functions, and a broad knowledge of hardware/software products/platforms to deliver and maintain application solutions to meet business needs.
? This person will also be responsible for leading a team of senior architects from across the organization on the Brokerage and Wealth Management product lines.
? This person will be immediately responsible for the architecture of the Brokerage and Wealth Management products such as Trading, market data, and general accounts.
? An understanding of how federal trading regulations influence technology decisions is also required.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide examples demonstrating mastery of these qualifications.
Architecture and deployment
• Leads any initiatives for hardware migration
• Decides how specific technologies will be deployed, accessed, utilized, and maintained within the application development/maintenance environment.
• Monitor technology trends (examine emerging technologies; e.g. Social, RIA, wireless, UDDI, web services, extreme programming, etc. to see how/when they might fit into the architecture).
• Partner with the infrastructure architects to insure that the all infrastructure is preparing taking advantage of emerging Brokerage and Wealth Management industries and technical trends that would benefit the client Brokerage and Wealth Management product lines.
• Conduct tradeoff analysis (be able to look at alternative architectural approaches and present pros, cons and recommendations)
• Specify required tools and methodologies (be able to review tools, create standards, review methodologies and defend these choices) Mentoring and Development
• Prototype/experiment/simulate (play with new technology when necessary to try out ideas/theories)
• Responsible for overseeing the technical design and implementation of all architectural components for the client Brokerage and Wealth Management Products, Systems and infrastructure.
• Responsible for the logical application blueprint for the client Brokerage and Wealth Management Products. This blueprint details the application components that comprise the client Brokerage and Wealth Management Products. |
