Job Description :  MSSQL | Oracle | DB2 | PostgreSQL
We are looking for an experienced database administrator who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL instances and Oracle Databases. You will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances.
Responsibilities -MSSQL
·         Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
·         Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
·         Test backups to ensure we can meet the business’ Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
·         Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
·         Choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, Windows Azure, or other technologies for a new build.
·         Install and configure new SQL Servers
·         Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
·         When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
·         Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
·         Document the organization's database environment
·         Failover clustering, SAN replication, and other high availability technologies
·         SQL Server merge, peer to peer, or transactional replication
·         Service Broker
·         Analysis Services, Integration Services, or Reporting Services
·         Data migration experience and Data refresh experience
·         Experience in Replication (Transactional) and in depth knowledge in high availability
·         Experience in database Cluster (SQL 2005, 2008,2012 &2014)and  SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
 
Responsibilities –Oracle
·         Good exposure as an Oracle DBA ( 5 to 8 yrs of experience)
·         Should have good knowledge on Oracle on Linux/windows.
·         Expert in Install/Upgrade/patching activities
·         Should have hands on experience in RAC Implementations
·         Should have good knowledge in Data guard and able to handle all switch over and failover activities.
·         Should be good in RMAN and able to manage all backup and recoveries.
·         Should have experience in AWS and good in migrating databases to AWS RDS.
·         Should have good knowledge in Oracle 11gr2 Grid and 12c Grid and able to migrate databases from 11g to 12c Grid
·         Should have good knowledge in OEM 13c implementation and deployment of targets
·         Knowledge on Golden Gate or Exadata is an added advantage
·         Should be able to tune and handle all the performance issues.
·         Should have good knowledge of Oracle security management
·         Good skills in all Oracle tools like (OEM, Toad, Sql Developer) etc..
·         Should be able to handle server/ Instance and SQL tuning
Responsibilities –DB2
·         Experience in installation of DB2 UDB and Fixpack Upgrades on UNIX and Windows machines, builds and maintenance of databases
·         Should have good experience in implementing standards, controls, and procedures to ensure data integrity and security.
·         Backup and Recovery - Framing suitable backup and recovery strategies and implement
·         Monitoring and tuning for most of the database configuration parameters like Bufferpool size, Logbufsz, Appheapsz, Sortheap, Sortheapthres, Locklist, Maxlocks, Locktimeout, Maxappls etc…
·         Database monitoring, reporting and optimization of SQL Queries assist in performance tuning application in DB2.
·         Maintenance of objects (Tables, Table spaces, Schemas, Indexes, views, Packages)
·         Import/Export, Load utilities to move data across systems.
·         Experience in day to day database administration tasks like Reorg, Runstats,backup, Restore, tablespace usage, db2advis, taking snapshot, Checking the memory , creating users, granting and revoking privileges.
·         Should have good experience in High Availability Disaster Recovery, High Availability Cluster Multi-Processing and  Data partitioning feature.
·         Coordination with business analysts & developers with regards to application, logical & physical database design, create and maintain logical entity relationship diagrams, transform logical models into physical data models.
·         UNIX / Perl scripting is an added advantage
 
Responsibilities –PostgreSQL
·         Install, tune and monitor Postgres database instances
·         Perform database Migrations from Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL to PostgreSQL
·         Performance tune and make performance tuning recommendations to existing database deployments
·         Set up High Availability configurations using PostgreSQL
·         Implement backup strategies and performs upgrades and patching
·         Develop architectures to migrate data and entire databases; implement and deliver on the architecture migrating databases
·         Core knowledge and understanding on PostgreSQL database including usage of psql, configuration files like pg_hba.conf and postgresql.conf.
·         Installation of IDE Tool - originally, PgAdmin, PgAgent
·         Create a Database, set encoding char, etc...
·         Install a Procedural Language as PL/pgSQL
·         Ensure performance and scalability of PostgreSQL databases
·         Implement, refine and maintain database replication and failover
·         Develop, refine and monitor recurring database jobs/scripts
·         Query analysis and optimization
·         Data import and data migration
