Will provide IT security technology maintenance and ongoing design, implementation and configuration as necessary in support of security policies, standards, and objectives.
SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS OR TECHNOLOGIES SERVICED:
Will maintain and upgrade software and hardware products that enforce IT security at company headquarters and remote facilities, and will design and implement configuration changes as required ongoing. Products include: Network firewalls, IDS/IPS, RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication, remote-access VPN, site-to-site VPN, URL filtering, anti-virus and SPAM filtering.
REQUIRED SKILL/BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE:
A preferred candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on experience with:
Network Firewall ??? Cisco PIX, ASA or equivalent
Network IDS/IPS ??? Cisco IDS/IPS or equivalent
RADIUS/TACACS+ ??? Cisco ACS, SteelBelted RADIUS or equivalent
Remote-access VPN ??? Cisco ASA or equivalent
Site-to-Site VPN ??? Cisco ASA or equivalent
URL filtering ??? IronPort or equivalent
Anti-virus protection software ??? Symantec Endpoint Protection or equivalent
SPAM filtering ??? Postini or equivalent
In addition to knowledge and experience with the listed technologies, a strong background in physical and logical network layered security implementation and best practices is preferred. Skills and experience related to network security incident management and containment are also preferred
Of the technologies listed there, the two most critical are Firewall and VPN (both site-to-site and client access). We run on a combination of ASA5520, ASA5540 and PIX525 gear i.e. all Cisco. I'd be looking for a person that has solid skills in these key areas i.e. they can quickly get up to speed on our configuration, they can do break/fix work, and they can iniatiate or continue on with any project work that involves new configuration on these platforms.
