Oracle Database Administrator W/SQL

Overview:
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with solid hands-on Oracle database administration experience and in-depth practical understanding of the Oracle database concepts, features and with some SQL Server experience.

The candidate will administer and support enterprise, high profile, mission critical and dynamic 24x7 large-scale Oracle environments with high availability and scalable performance requirements. Extensive practical experience in Oracle 11g/10g and advanced technologies including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Streams, Spatial, Partitioning and Text on Solaris and Linux platforms are required.

Experience

? MUST HAVE Eight plus years of Oracle database administration experience, OCP DBA certification would be plus.

? Oracle database support experience for versions 9.x, 10.x, 11GR1, 11GR2 in a UNIX and/or Windows environment.

Key Responsibilities.
? Represent organization; serve as primary organizational contact on technically difficult projects.
? Design, create and maintain Oracle database(s) for production, test and development in UNIX/LINUX environment. This includes managing database housekeeping schedules such as but not limited to statistics gathering, archival of older data and space management.
? Backup and recovery strategy and insure recoverability of Oracle databases.
? Provide 24x7 on-call support.
? Responsible for maintaining a 24x7 database uptime. Deploying and managing fault-tolerance and high-availability and DR (Disaster Recovery) solutions including Oracle Data Guard and Streams and others.
? Database performance tuning and taking proactive measures to improve uptime and response times (capacity planning).
? Administering and enforcing database and user security policies and standards including compliance with SOX regulations, various federal and state consumer privacy regulations.
? Developing, maintaining and improving efficient database processes, accurate documentation and best practices.
? Providing mentoring, support to software engineering teams and also responsible for building a healthy, professional work relationship with the rest of the DBA team members, project management, QA and various IT groups including system, SAN and network engineers.
Education
