SharePoint Administrator

Jamestown, MI (20 minutes Southwest of Grand Rapids, MI)

6-9 months contract

 

 We are currently looking for a talented Sharepoint Administrator with strong technical, analytical and communications skills to assist during the migration of our existing Lotus Domino messaging and collaboration environment to Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365. Responsibilities include day-to-day system administration of the environment including the implementation of new products and services, performing preventative maintenance, and providing operational support for Windows Server 2008R2, Sharepoint Server 2010, Active Directory, ADFS, Forefront Identity Manager, Nintex Forms & Workflow, Newsgator Social Sites as well as Lync & Exchange Hosted offering through Office 365.

Primary responsibility will be to assist in all operations of SharePoint including: server configuration, application of service packs, management of groups and accounts, management of SharePoint sites and site collections, solution deployment, and system and user functional troubleshooting. This individual will provide support, troubleshooting and administration for the corporate messaging and collaboration applications infrastructure. Strong emphasis will be placed on ability to create documentation, facilitate knowledge transfer and provide cross-training with other members of the admin team.

This position is expected to be a 6-9 month contract.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • SharePoint Server Administration: Includes installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting all versions of Windows operating systems and server applications such as SharePoint, SQL, Exchange, IIS, SCCM.
  • Performs administration, troubleshooting, and support of Windows Operating Systems, servers, and applications.
  • Performs system maintenance, modification, troubleshooting and problem resolution of numerous servers as well as using and managing a ticketing system to track technical issues.
  • Updates software, operating systems, security patches for servers and computers running Server 2003 / 2008.
  • Evaluates server performance utilizing software and hardware monitoring tools and recommends design solutions.
  • Assist and participate in architectural design discussions. It is expected that this individual can speak from experience about the implications of various design decisions related to SharePoint and Microsoft application environments.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Architectural and engineering experience in an enterprise SharePoint and Exchange environment.
  • 8+ years technical experience in administration of Windows Server Operating Systems, servers, and applications with 3-5 years SharePoint, especially version 2010
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Team player with very good interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

 

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Previous experience with Lotus to Microsoft SharePoint/Exchange migrations
  • Experience implementing Newsgator Social Sites for SharePoint 2010
  • Experience with Nintex Forms & Workflow tools for SharePoint
  • Specific expertise with Claims-based authentication, ADFS, and SAML
  • Experience with directory synchronization using Forefront Identity Manager or ILMT
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing/Multi-tenant environments
  • Database knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Microsoft Online Services (BPOS or Office 365)
