Urgent Need : Sr VMware ESXi Admin(12+ Years) @ West Des Moines, IA

We are looking for VMware ESXi Admin immediately to be based out of West Des Moines, IA
 
Work Location   :    West Des Moines, IA - 100 % Onsite.
Start Date          :    ASAP
Duration             :   Long Term
Experience : 10 -15 years.
 
 
The role carries responsibility of administration & management of VMware ESXi servers including upgrades, patches, maintenance releases, incidents, DC Migration/Replication and tech alerts.
 
Technical Skills:
 
Ø Installation/configuring ESXi Servers, vSphere Client and vCenter Server.
Ø Deploy Virtual Machines and use Clones, Snapshots, templates
Ø Present / Assign LUN to ESXi host
Ø Creating and Managing Virtual Machines and Templates
Ø Creating Clusters for High Availability (HA) and Distributive Resource Scheduling (DRS) and SDRS.
Ø Ability to manage vMkernal, vMotion, Alerts and other ESXi configuration.
Ø Migrate Physical Servers to Virtual Server using VMware Converter
Ø Migrating Virtual Machines using vSphere replication.
Ø Good Knowledge into Windows / Linux platforms
Ø ITIL Process knowledge
Ø Knowledge on physical/virtual/cloud Infrastructure
Ø Patch management and security hardening
Ø Knowledge of NAS, SAN storage and backup management
Ø Centralized Authentication Service (SSO, LDAP)
Ø Knowledge on vSphere cloud management and administration tools.
Ø Knowledge on vSphere Site Recovery Manager, Long distance vMotion and other DR applications.
Ø Core Knowledge on vSphere Standard and Distributed Switch management.
Ø Core Knowledge on vSphere Standard and Distributed Switch migration.
Ø Proactive network and storage alert management skills.
Ø Ability to access vSphere and Storage environment stability and finding issues proactively.
Ø Configure CPU, Memory, Storage and Network to VMware vSphere best practise.
Ø Core understanding of resource control like CPU, Memory and storage allocation and its usage.
Ø Making proper changes to environment as per the utilization and log analysis of CPU, memory, Storage and Network by following proper change management.
Ø Knowledge on vSphere replication and data protection.
Ø Perform vSphere environment architecture design and implementation.
Ø To standardize and stabilize the process.
Ø Ensure to follow ITIL framework for management processes
Main responsibilities
 
Ø Participation in 24/7 on-call/on-duty support
Ø Proven ability to handle several assignments simultaneously
Ø Proven ability to manage and work independently
Ø Backup configuration using 3rd party tape libraries
Ø Proven ability to mentor other VMware and provide technical expertise when necessary
Ø Superior proficiency in resolving VMware issues
Ø configure and work on DR related activities
Ø Participation in the review of processes and recommendations
Ø Support of development, test and production database environments.
Ø Management and recommendation of upgrades, patches, maintenance releases, incidents, and tech alerts.
Ø Recommendation and implementations regarding new features as they become available
Ø Establish and monitor corporate standards, including disaster recovery, security, and data retention.
Ø Ability to determine and document root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
Ø Minimum of 6 years of Core VMware support experience with different versions
Ø Core Knowledge on VMware vSphere replication appliance management.
Ø Core knowledge on vSphere replication troubleshooting and management.
 
Good to have:
 
Ø VMware certification required
Ø Thorough knowledge on ITIL framework
Ø Team lead experience a plus
Ø ITIL Certification
Ø Knowledge into VMware vSphere products.
Ø To update knowledge in current best practices
Ø Exposure to high end clustering & replication
