Overview
The Senior Data Modeler will be lead all design activities for new project development as our organization is very data centric. You will be responsible for all logical modeling including ensuring semantic consistency to all data objects. You must be able to explain data access paths and design physical models for optimum performance.
Responsibilities
• Own all logical data models and the associated data dictionary.
• Take leadership role in data related design sessions
• Define and document data access paths for new tables
• Manage static reference data
• Become central point of contact for all data access questions
• Interact with senior business players to understand semantic meaning of data
• Ability to also drive physical layer with knowledge of VLDB performance

• Team player that is also self-motivated
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Balance logical (business) skills with physical (performance)
• Ability to analyze and solve problems and work with the team to identify and fix the root cause of the problems (be it data quality, performance, or programmatic)
• Life cycle experience in large complex systems
• Must be able to deliver within short time frames
Specific Technical Skills
• 8+ years experience development large logical data models
• 2+ years experience using Erwin as the data modeling tool
• 3+ years experience development of index tuned physical data models
• 15+ years in Information Technology (with deep understanding of relational data structures)
• 2+ years experience working with VLDB (very large databases); especially OLTP with normalized schema.
• 5+ yrs SQL experience (preferable Oracle)
• Proven experience in data profiling and analysis
• Proven experience with data cleansing
