• In depth experience working with Sybase ASE 12.5, 15.x, installation, configuration and upgrade on Solaris / Linux platforms
• Excellent experience working with Sybase 15.x replication servers
• Experience setting up warm standby, multi-site replications and table level replication
• Well versed with Sybase ASE 15.x optimizer and new features.
• Excellent knowledge of Database backup and recovery of very large databases
• Expert level troubleshooting knowledge of Sybase database issues
• Expert level of performance and tuning skills
• Experience with migrating Sybase databases from Solaris to Linux platforms.
• Have experience working with MS SQL databases as secondary DBA
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multiple version, instances with multiple operating system platform
• Good scripting skills to create and maintain shell scripts to automate various database related tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of incident management and change management processes
• Must be a team player
